My friend got into CAS but wanted to get into Communication, can she switch?

I don't know, but I would assume after the first year if you do well enough you can. I didn't get into the communications program either, but I'm in and if I decide to go , I'm thinkning I can change majors. It's actually sort of good that I did not get into the communications program because at a few other colleges I applied for Political Science and I am not sure which I would rather go for. If I go to Boston I could pursue that avenue easier. I don't really care, 38,000 applicants is a LOT to apply and only 4,500 got it. At least that is the way I read it.

I heard switching colleges at BU is such a ***** involving a tremendous amount of time and paperwork.

not really. all you need to really have is a certain GPA depending on the school or program and if you know beforehand that you wanna switch then you already be working to fulfill elective credit and stuff at the school you're already at.

So you're friend got in to CAS but wanted COM.. did he/she apply to CAS? If so, then you can call admissions and have them see if they can switch you.

She applied to COM but got into CAS. So can she just call now and make the switch? Or wait till she enrolls in the fall?

i think she should call now because if they do let her do it then she won't have to worry about an internal transfer and the possibility of not being accepted. tell her to call them on monday and if they don't let her do it and she has to wait until after a semester or so then at least she tried and it may influence her decision. good luck!

Ok thanks guys for all your help! :D
