Switching from Bioengineering to EECS CalSO

Hi, I am an admitted student for Bioengineering in COE for Fall 2011. If I'm interested in switching to EECS (I have to apply to change majors in the Spring), which degree sheet should I complete in preparation for CalSO? Just BioE, or would both be more beneficial?

If it is for course advising purposes, you may want to fill one in for each major you may consider (BioE, EECS, ???; also look up L&S CS), and try to work out what set of first semester courses will move you forward so that you can do any of the majors without delaying graduation.

but since I don’t find out until the middle of second semester whether or not I was able to switch, should I match second the semester schedule across all courses if possible? Thanks!

As much as you can, yes.

If you don’t get into EECS, would you stay in Bioengineering, or switch to L&S CS?

probably L&S CS, but I looking at the three schedules, there is no way I can fully match the first two semesters but I guess I will try my best

Hi Ballpoint

I switched from BioE to EECS in my second semester of my freshman year (meaning this Spring semester that has just passed). Just keep a decent GPA and make sure you take some of the pre-req classes (Physics 7A, Math 53, and CS61A were mine last fall and physics and math and 61A fulfil BioE grad requirements anyway should it shouldn’t be a problem or cause a conflict in case you decide to stay in BioE) Good Luck!

@Diivio wat was ur gpa? if u dont mind me asking.
