I'm going to be starting at Penn State this fall enrolled in the college of engineering. If, for some reason, I feel like it's not the right path for me, how hard would it be to switch to Smeal to take up accounting after a year in engineering? I know I would have to stay an extra year to fulfill the 150 credit requirement to become a CPA. Also, would I have to take a foreign language if I were to switch? If anyone is at Penn State for accounting right now, I would like to hear your opinion on it. Thanks a lot.

You might want to discuss this plan with your advisor. I believe that there are strict requirements to enter majors at Smeal college of business if you are not enrolled there initially, see this link [Pre-Major Planning — Smeal Undergraduate Student Exchange](http://ugstudents.smeal.psu.edu/academics-advising/get-into-a-smeal-major/pre-major-planning)
