Switching into an Architecture Major at UCLA

Hey.

I am going to be a freshman at UCLA next fall. My major is business/econ. Recently I have been thinking about studying architecture, but a couple of things are bugging me.

First, how the hell do I assemble a portfolio? I never took an art class in high school.

Second, if I were somehow able to transfer into an architecture program, would I be way behind?

Thanks for your help/advice.

you will not be behind. If you are a freshmen in architecture they'll have you take prerequisites before being accepted into the major. And then when you are accepted, you'll be taking studio classes and etc. etc. I am a transfer so I don't know much about the process. Some of my classmates started in UCLA and I have not seen their portfolio.

oh man..since you don't have any experience with art, then you might have a hard time trying to compete with other students who are trying to get in. Once you are in, just come in our building and ask around what to do.
