Switching Major and School

Hi. I recently got into NYU's LSP in the College of Arts and Science and majoring in Biology. I was wondering how difficult it would be to switch programs and majors in my sophomore year. For example, how hard would it be to get into the School of Nursing. I got into the Nursing program at USF and I decided that I would rather be in the Nursing program at NYU. Is it even possible to switch during my sophomore year?

It’s best to ask the College of Nursing directly. Here’s the link to their forums. They generally respond within 1-3 days excluding weekends.

Based on what I know, you have to finish your Liberal studies courses, which are really Morse Academic courses. You can finish it by end of sophomore year 1st/2nd semester if you have enough AP credits transferred. LSP students or General Studies students (the old name) can transfer to their specific school noted in their admission application as long they maintained a 3.0 GPA.

If you are not entering the College of Nursing after LSP is finished for you, you will need to internally transfer to the school. The transfer acceptance rate for the College of Nursing is 30% for external applicants but it should be easier for NYU students.

i don’t know the logistics of the transfering process but it is possible. one of my friends in LSP switched from cas to nursing in his sophomore year.
