So I was just accepted last week as a Political Science major. I'm not 100% sure that that is what I want to major in but I was also told that you don't have to declare until later on. But does that only apply to within my own department? (i.e. I applied for PoliSci but later declare English lit or something else in the college of arts/sciences).

What happens if I want to switch to an Art History or Bachelor of Fine Arts major though? I have the portfolio and everything (I've even gotten into some just straight up art schools with it so I know it's decent at least), my parents were just super against me applying to the school of fine arts before but now they seem to be more okay with the idea.
Is this something I should email them about now or should I just wait or what do you think I should do? Also, is double majoring in two different schools a possible thing or no?

I'd appreciate any kind of help!

My son is in the same boat, except that he hasn’t been accepted yet. He would like to double major in engineering and music. He was told that he would have to add the double major once he arrives at school. It is hard to know exactly what you want to do when you begin the application process. Congrats on your acceptance and best of luck with your decisions.

I was wondering the same thing ! I was accepted for communication disorders and wanted to switch to pre-pharmacy

Generally it’s not too difficult to switch between schools during your first semester. You might have to submit your portfolio and talk to someone in the department to switch into the school of fine arts, but it shouldn’t be anything too serious.

My advice would be to ask someone when you go in for orientation (normally towards the end of May). They might be able to switch your major right there, but even if they can’t, they’ll be able to tell you what classes to take and give you more information on changing majors.
