switching majors

So I have been accepted in USC under Gender Studies and am now having alot of doubts about it. I am thinking I probably would rather do Psychology...

Also, would there be any point in switching to 'Undeclared' if I really didn't know? Or how does my major affect my first couple undergrad years. I just don't want it to affect my admission decision either.

Some majors have a very specific sequence of required classes. But many classes that you take as a freshman will count as elective credit for other majors too. It is quite common for students to switch majors and still graduate in 4 years with careful planning.

Your best bet is to make a phonecall to the Admissions office, and also to specific departments in the college. They are very helpful. Switching your major before school starts will not affect your admission decision, as you are already in. At the most you will be told that they cannot switch you, but I even doubt that for Psychology. Maybe if you were trying to switch into a Business school or something, it would be a problem, but not from Gender Studies to Psychology.
