Switching phone networks??

<p>This probably has been asked/answered, but I can't seem to find any answer that satisfies me. I have a Cingular phone now, and I'm probably going to switch to Rogers when I get up there. I heard they have GSM cards like Cingular, so do I have to unlock my phone and then get a plan or can I just take out the sim card in my phone and give it to a relative to use without unlocking the phone?</p>

<p>you have to unlock it, which is relatively simple. Just call cingular and ask them for the unlock code, and just say something like, "I'm going over seas, and have purchases a pre-paid sim"...</p>

<p>Hi jhhilly,
Without unlocking you can’t switch your network provider.Using network unlock code is the best way to unlock your mobile phone. You can get an unlock code from your service provider or else try to buy an unlock code from any one of the online unlocking service provider.
