Hello everyone. I just had the pleasure of being admitted to the UPenn class of 2017. I applied to the college of arts and sciences as a chem major. However, durring the months between my application and my acceptance, I realized that what I really want to study is computer science. This would require me to transfer to the School of Engineering. Is this transfer possible before starting? I really don't want to spend a year studying something that is no longer my passion. If the transfer is possible, how would I do it?

But you can totally start taking the pre-recs to do CIS in engineering. So that you won’t be behind. I have a friend who wanted to switch from Engineering to the college and she just took classes in the college to get on track. When she did well, it was pretty easy for her to switch.

Yup, you can just start your engineering degree requirements right away and then apply for formal transfer to SEAS at the end of the year - all you need is a 3.0.
