How bad is it to switch high schools right before senior year starts? I switched right before junior year started because of a family situation that required us to move to another county for a job. And now it seems that we might have to move again because of the same situation. Will this affect me in any way when applying to college?

Get letters of recommendation from teachers your junior year since they know you better as a student than your senior teachers will. Use a letter from your senior year counselor to explain how you’ve immediately gotten involved and embraced the opportunities at your new school (of course you need to actually do this so he/she can write about it truthfully).

Don’t let this be a negative - make it an opportunity to demonstrate how versatile you are.

Thank you for your input! Anyone else have an opinion?

The other issue is that it’s harder to demontrate your increased leadership skills over time if you are constantly changing schools (and countries). Many seniors are taking on leadership roles either in school or at their jobs or in the community, that they have earned by paying their dues during the prior three years.

That said, it is an opportunity to focus on what is unique about you-your adaptability, sensitivity to/interest in other cultures, linguistic skills, or whatever else would make you stand out. Not everyone has to demonstrate leadership: You will just need to be a little more creative in how you demonstrate increased mastery/responsibility in your various environments.
