If you're a pre-business major, would having all breadth classes as P/NP and only the prereqs counting for grades affect, in any way, your chances at Haas?
Also, does anyone know the deadline for switching to P/NP?

Calendar
the deadline is oct29th

I don’t think you can do that… lol. only 30% (or something around 30%) of your units can be P/NP.

It doesn’t make sense to do that, as breadths can boost your GPA.

By your logic, you’re assuming your gonna do well on your Haas pre-reqs. But, if you can do well in your pre-reqs then why not breadths? Breadths are really easy imo.

i’ve taken almost all of my breadths p/np because it freed up time. a lot of them require weekly hundred-of-pages of reading, which i just don’t have the patience for.

I’m just saying if I’m not doing so hot on my breadth classes and change all the breadth in my first year to P/NP, do the Haas admission people care? Or do they just look at GPA?

nope, they care about whether you took things P/NP. They don’t look at your GPA first. You have to fill out this form with all the pre-req/breadth you took and what you got in it. Then afterwards, they ask for your transcript to verify. So taking your breadth P/NP looks really bad.

How much is ‘all’? I did 3/7 of my breadths P/NP, and it didn’t seem to be a problem. I did spread it out though.

I think he means ALL as in ALL 7. haha… please correct me if im wrong.
