To anyone who was accepted into the Honors College, what were your stats? Asking because I’m confused as to why I wasn’t accepted into the program.
I got into the Honors program. My SAT was a 1350 superscore, and I had a 3.89 GPA unweighted. Weighted it would be well over 4.0 because I took 7 AP classes. I think the rigor of my high school course load in context to what my school offered was a huge part of why I got a seat in the Honors program. I took every AP class my school offers aside from AP French (I took Spanish). Don’t beat yourself up… you should apply to the program next year! Syracuse is an amazing school, Honors or not.
@goingtoSU I believe you can apply into the Honors program if you weren’t automatically accepted.
Don’t be too impressed…you will get decent housing freshman year but nothing special after that…you will be pooled in the lottery with everyone else. Honors college is not a big deal…you get maybe one honors class with small class size. It’s totally oversold and you don’t really get any benefits as admissions might lead you to believe. Take it from me…miserable sophomore year hoping that I can transfer.
Why are you looking to transfer from Syracuse? And can you elaborate on your experience with the honors program? Usually advisory services are a nice perk with an honors program, has that not been your experience?
