Ok so i got accepted to Syracuse for early decision class of 2021 and i got 2cs and one d in my first senior year(which turns to be the biggest mistake that i made in my entire life) do you guys know if syracuse will rescind their admission? Will I be able to make that up by doing well in my second semester? Currentlu college didnt ask for my senior transcript and I am really concerned…
I think you are definitely at risk for being rescinded, especially because as a senior you cannot retake the course you got a D in over the summer. Have you talked to your counselor about what your options are at this point?
Go see your guidance counselor. They will try to intervene on your behalf. Your final grades will be sent and if the college says no Ds, they probably mean no Ds. But if you work hard, you can hopefully bring that D up to a C before the end of the year.
Agree, you are at risk and it would be a good idea to talk to your guidance counselor. Colleges typically want the final transcript to insure you completed the courses you said you would be taking, that your grades didn’t tank, and that you graduated. It is time to buckle down and be sure you get all the grades to at least the C level by the end of the year.
Yes, commit yourself to working hard the rest of the way. I would think that would help a lot if the first semester grades draw scrutiny.
All you can do is hold your breath and hope for the best. What id done is done. No changing it now.
Good luck.
thank you so much for the comments guys i will definitely talk with my guidance counselor about it and take it easy.
Absolutely speak to your guidance counselor and do everything you can to fix your grades. The college will receive your final high school transcript as they need proof of graduation. But, colleges tend to rescind when they have higher than expected yields or long lists of people who accepted wait listing. In other cases, they are more likely to send you a letter telling you they noticed your drop in grades and asking for an explanation. In between rescinding and asking for an explanation is the “you can come in January after proving yourself at a community college” scenario. So, do what you can–stop blowing off your school work–and hope for the best.
