definitely this friday…without a doubt
what are your rigorous courses and what are your extracurriculars?
Sure hope so. Some folks on Reddit are suggesting that they started rounds of notifications on March 5 and have been delivering more each Friday.
I’m like 95% sure I’ll get in and I haven’t heard back yet so I think it’ll be this week
They did not officially notify anyone last friday
My school doesn’t offer many APs so I only could take AP bio (maintained an A in that class so far), accelerated physics, rigorous english/history (my school doesn’t have an honors system, it’s really weird). Last year I took the equivalent of honors english, chemistry, and history and got straight A’s (freshman year is where my grades were not as good). Have all A’s this year.
EC’s include playing tennis 3-4 times a week, on my school’s team as well and have been since freshman year) children’s tennis coach 3-4 times a week (paid job) and occasional volunteering.
I’m just worried my grades and ACT (28) will earn me a spot on the waitlist instead because of the sheer amount of people applying.
Additionally, I wrote for my school Newspaper, took 6 AP’s, did travel soccer all 4 years of HS, and showed pretty decent grade progression throughout Junior year. Despite this, I had only a 4.0 weighted and went test optional, which I think is gonna hurt my chances.
You sound like you have a very good shot to me. The lower GPA is not as bad since it is on an upward trend.
your act is average for syracuse so you should be ok in that retrospect
it might not help you greatly but it won’t hurt you
Oh and I was on debate team lol. I forgot
Thanks for the input. Just super nervous that I’ll get waitlisted haha
I’m stressed out of my mind as much as I’m sure you and many others are about getting in… but the only thing we can do is wait. Let’s hope for this Friday and try to not to lose our minds too much
I don’t think you will, but honestly, a TON of people got off of the waitlist last year.
even if you get waitlisted it’s not over because Syracuse’s yield is pretty average so many people get off the waitlist
I’m worried since I applied to Newhouse and it’s like a 13% acceptance rate on an average year, and this year probably closer to 10%.
did you apply to a second choice?
No, I don’t think so. Cause for me I either wanna go to Newhouse or if I didn’t get in I’d just go somewhere else.
Same
Does anyone know if not having an interview significantly decreases chances, I was unable to do one for certain reasons but I’m wondering if that hurts me
