Yep, Miami OH, and, honestly, that is where S21 should go unless Syracuse gives him a lot of merit. He got full tuition at Miami and Honor acceptance. To be able to come out in 4 years with a masters from Farmer and bachelors in sports management puts him in a nice spot professionally and financially. I think he knows that too, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
BTW, S21 wrestles. Our season was pushed to May & June due to COVID. In the middle of soccer (1st love) now. That was pushed from Fall.
Do you guys think the rest of the decisions regardless of rejection/waitlist/acceptance will come out tomorrow? or will there be more release dates? it’s frustrating that we have to wait so long !
Last Friday, I’m pretty sure the admissions page on Instagram said something like “we will continue to review applications throughout March and until April, if necessary” – which makes it sound like there could very well be more waves. I really hope most, if not all, come out tomorrow though… because if I have to wait another week I’ll cry lmao
hi!! so I got accepted last Friday, but my friends friend hasn’t heard. here is they email he received from an admissions officer:
“thank you for your email. we are finalizing decisions as quickly as we can and sending those decisions out once they are done. I took a quick look at your application and it does not have a final decision yet. I’m sure we will make a decision soon and you will receive a notification. If a student is offered a merit scholarship, it will be included in the acceptance letter.”
there is no way they haven’t gotten around to reading some applications yet, so my guess is that they put some kids in the maybe pile (waitlist or accepted, can go either way) and see how many people already pull their app from the first round and also just kids they are unsure about in general and want to take another look at. I’m sure there will be acceptances tomorrow/in the next round, so just keep your heads up. you never know until you know!
My college counselor told me awhile ago that colleges make decisions down to the wire, so they actually could’ve not read every application yet if they had a lot
for ex: Michigan is notorious for deferring tons of people EA bc they simply have more apps then they can read in time
I agree. They also have a lot of information to review compared to other schools because they review 2 LORS, transcript, interviews (for some people), demonstrated interest, supplemental essay, school report, common app essay, etc. And good luck to everyone today, wishing you all the best!
I’m also thinking (may be wishful thinking) that they hold some of the applications they are trying to decide whether to award the bigger scholarships vs. Dean/Chancellor variety.
On the website it says they got 35,000 in 2018. But I think for the last 2 years it went down to probably 30,000ish. So an increase of 9,000 applicants.
