And $40,000!! Won’t your kid reconsider ? Lol
Oh, I’m sorry.
My niece and nephew went to Maryland and Ohio and loved their schools. My nephew loved it so much that he stayed after graduation and lives in Ohio now. My older daughter is at Michigan and my D22 hopes to go there so she would not even apply to Ohio bc of the football rivalry. Good luck to your son—he has great options!
I think maybe if we had visited, she would have. At this point, she’s got it narrowed down to 3 that are her top choices: FSU (which is a fair value, even at full price), Indiana (with moderate amount of merit), and Syracuse. For her to go to Syracuse, she’d need to overcome several hurdles, including admission, admit to business, merit offer, and it would have to be a significant merit offer! So, fingers crossed for a miracle!

Is there a certain time when decisions have typically been released in the past?
Three years ago my son received it after 6pm ET. Decision will be an email with a link to open. No need to go into MySlice.
I forgot Indiana is also on the list…BUT only if she receives the additional SSA money. At least they gave something ! Plus, it’s gorgeous there ! Still think OSU and Syracuse are at the top.
What is the additional SSA money? At Indiana, my daughter got the Hoosier Scholars, which is $7k/year. We went for a Kelley Business school direct admit day, which was super impressive. However, nothing beats the personalized supportive feel she got from the Whitman School at Syracuse. So, really hoping for a miracle!
My daughter also has a portal change and did not apply for financial aid. I am guessing that everyone has this now but they are releasing over the next few weeks. Good luck to everyone—I hope you will all be in the first batch with good news!
My daughter also got $7,000 a year and then was invited to apply to a selective scholarship (SSA). More essays and 2 extra recs Still waiting to see if she gets it. Think max $5,000 extra a year. However, she is going into chemistry/forensic science. Kelly is amazing from what I hear !
Per our college counselor who has regular interaction with Michigan. We are a top 10 feeder school. They do have to consider students without test scores, but I have been told they will favor those with test scores.
I’m a little confused about how Syracuse does their merit aide. If you’re admitted and there is no merit amount awarded, does that mean you are not going to get anything? Or does it come later?
Both of my kids were admitted to Syracuse (one this year and one in 2020) and both received merit in admissions email. Best of luck to you.
Has anyone signed into myslice as a parent/proxy account? I usually sign in to my daughter’s student account. I just signed into the parent account and noticed that there are two options, Applicant Home and Student Home. Has it always been like that?
Don’t know how ! Lol
Shoot, don’t have the passwords for that. Tried to do it once to upload FA materials and couldn’t figure it out and just ended up getting my son’s applicant login instead.
Actually I take that back. Apparently I DO have the login for that. I have both of those options as well. No idea if they were there before.
No it has not always been like that. I always sign in using the proxy account, and I have always clicked on the little carrot and nothing happened…however today I get the Applicant Home and Student Home buttons…I am so hopeful that this means something positive…
You have to setup access through the student account
