i guess im just speaking strictly from last years experience. the first wave was predominantly acceptances and the last wave had a ton of waitlists and relatively few acceptances, based on what people reported on these forums
I think decisions are sent by schools. I donāt see many VPA acceptances. I am hoping they are coming in the next batch, along with other decisions. Did anyone get a RD for VPA (film)? Maybe it takes longer to review and organize all the portfolios.
My son got a VPA acceptance last Friday for film No merit though, which is a bummer.
My daughter got her VPA acceptance last week for Fashion Designā¦with a 10,000 Deanās scholarship.
Congrats! That is a bummer about the $
Congrats! Fingers crossed for my daughter for the next wave.
I definitely think lots more acceptances comingā¦my daughter was the only one in her HS that has heard back from them good or badā¦knowing some of the other kids stats that appliedā¦mine cannot be the only one that got in from her HS. Good luck to everyone waiting!
thatās great news thanks!!!
lots of theater acceptances out of vpa last friday!
Thank you!
Daughter applied RD for film. No word yet. Itās very defeating to not hear while others have. Trying to be patient but itās a downer. Sheās already been accepted at Ithaca with a big scholarship and Mason Gross film program at Rutgers, so two good choices already. These schools were quick and thorough in their responsesā¦ I canāt help but feel that decisions that come out later than others are not as strong as the earlier ones. Hope Iām wrong. Wish the school would put out a statement explaining that applicants in their own major will hear before others and it wonāt mean anything.
Thanks for your response. My daughter has Ithaca and other acceptances too, and waitlisted at 2 top 10. I am just anxious for this all to be over. I do know in past years acceptances were sent out after the first round and know a few people who moved off weight list after May 1st. So anything is possible.
Good info, thanks. And good luck to your daughter!! Mine got wait listed as well elsewhere. I told her to āgo to the school that really wants youā and you will do fine. I love Ithacaās program. Weāve talked to so many people with kids there and they have a ball and get jobs. My neighbor said his roommate at Cornell (years ago) left there to go to Roy Park for film instead and is pretty successful. Film / art is hard, so I like the practicality there. Syracuse too. Fingers crossed.
ā¦and when I look at what is going on in this world, these are good problems to have! (Did I just reply to myself? LOL!)
Lol, Yes very true but still would be nice to know the schedule of decision drops. Watching my daughter stress is awful. They already have enough on their plate. I called admissions today knowing I would get a very general answer and yup. The woman said I believe they are still sending out and that was it. Oh well , I tried.
I have a recent Parent/Proxy portal update with deposit and financial aid buttons. Have yet to be accepted and no awards are listed. Can anyone offer some portal astrology (or lack there of) insight?
Also have āColl of Prof Stā payment select. Assuming this is their online degree program?
My other D went through a similar process a few years ago for Theatre. āGo where they love you the mostā was the best advice. Good luck to your daughter tooš¤ Totally agree we could have worse problems
That is so good to hear about Ithaca. My son got in there with very nice merit and is going to an admitted students event this weekend. Given Syracuse gave no money, it looks like it will be Ithaca or DePaul in the end (DePaul gave nice merit as well). While Syracuse was his first choice of the three, he is pretty pragmatic and feels heāll be happy at the other two as well. Glad to hear positive things about Park.
Awesome! Maybe my D will see your S there. Make sure you got their postcard offering a $500 grant if you visit an admitted student event. Got that one in the mailbox yesterday and pinned it to Dās pillow with note saying āmake a date!ā
Today is National Orange Day at Syracuse - perfect day to admit a lot of deserving seniors, right??!!
