Syracuse Class of 2026 Admissions

Does anyone know when regular decision is supposed to come out? Or if it’s rolling and if anyone has heard back yet?

It’s my understanding, in past years, decisions rolled out on Fridays in March. This year, acceptances have already started (for students who’ve been awarded some of the bigger scholarships, and from specific schools like architecture). I think people are hoping (expecting?) a lot more decisions will be released this Friday….

Wow, 18! Mine has eliminated her reach and deferral schools. Even if she’s admitted now, she’s not interested anymore. I wish she’d commit already! Which schools is your daughter deciding between?

My son received his admission on March 13, 2020 which was a Friday. A little after 3pm.

Of the acceptances so far, Ohio State (been at the top but zero money. Even with scholars program), Penn State, Syracuse (obviously not heard from yet), Illinois, Indiana, and from two of her deferrals (Tulane and university of Miami). Her reaches are way out of reach! We have kind of put those aside unless a miracle would happen.

I think Syracuse does a good job on social media of making the school look appealing, even the snow. But I am grateful for the very few colleges that sent a clear advance email of the date and time their decisions would be released. All this mystery creates unnecessary stress.

Completely 100% agree with you!!! I would call but they are probably getting a ton of calls. They would most likely say very soon. Lol

So, is my understanding correct that all the big scholarships have already been given out?

I actually haven’t heard at all. That’s what is being said but nothing is confirmed.

I thought I saw someone saying on here that their kid received a scholarship the 3rd or last week of March last year. I think maybe those are like the full rides keep our talking about. I have no knowledge of this. I do not understand why the scholarships would go out first. Unless they needed an interview etc.

it’s just how they do it. it’s quirky

correct - so correct that my child said I ruined it because I told him to check and click on that button because I had read about that “glitch” so he clicked it before his official email came.

the school is appealing.
they get so many applications.
many want to be there and apply ED.
they don’t need to rush anything or court anyone with promissory dates.
if you are willing to wait, great if not, all good.

Would it really be difficult to send an email or post on IG or FB saying decisions will be out March x at x time? Not sure why that’s hard. But of course we have no choice but to wait. Like all colleges, SU has its pros and cons.

In 2016, my daughter was admitted to Syracuse with a scholarship on the general regular decision release date. The scholarship was mentioned in her letter. Unless things have changed drastically, I think there’s no reason to believe scholarships were all announced early.

I just called admissions and they said that decisions will be going out “late March into early April” randomly. She explained they received 40,000 applications and cannot release all decisions at once so releases will be scattered.

I wonder why they told my daughter at the tour this week that they would be released very very soon but not today. (That was Monday) she said they made it seem like it would be by the end of this week if not before.
