I have been accepted to both Syracuse & Colgate and recieved a full ride to both. But, which university is better?

(in terms of academics, people and campus)

Thank you.

Thank you.

I went to Syracuse many, many moons ago.

If this was my choice, I’d select Colgate. Absolutely beautiful school. Preppy though.

Syracuse is large, much more diverse, and had (has?) a large number of students from LI too.

I will second Colgate!

this is kind of a strange situation. syracuse and cornell are pretty different schools. do you like both environments equally well?

Cornell?
Do you mean Colgate?

Well personally I don’t think this is a question. Colgate hands down. I’m fairly familiar with both schools and I think the academic opportunities at Colgate are so much greater than 'Cuse that I wouldn’t be able to rationalize going to 'Cuse. The only thing SU has that Colgate doesn’t is a big school atmosphere with big sports, but Colgate students go to a lot of athletic events and Colgate is a party school too.

At Colgate you’ll have a much better classroom experience. You’ll know your professors better and the classes are more discussion based (which for me at least is better).

Absolutely Colgate! Syracuse is like going to a state school for much more money. Colgate will give you a better education.

Seriously? I attended Syracuse (also many moons ago) and couldn’t have asked for a better education. Truly loved it. Well…except for the weather.

That said, I would certainly visit both campuses if you haven’t already and talk to some students in your prospective major at each, if possible.
