I got waitlisted too. I’m actually kind of happy because I thought I was gonna get rejected due to the fact they were taking so long.
Why are they waitlisting so many with high stats this year?
what does it say on myslice if you are waitlisted? Does a
thinking a lot of schools are just trying to get their acceptance rates down this year.
I got waitlisted for VPA Film
Some schools use yield protection. They waitlist high-achieving students because they dont want to be seen as someone’s second choice, and they dont want someone to apply there as a safety. Some schools do this. This is what I think it is. I know someone with a 21 ACT and 3.3 gpa who got in. I don’t think it has to do with competitiveness. Im sorry about your waitlist by the way.

@coolsinger198 yeah I was just researching this and I’m kinda pissed. I actually am very interested in attending Syracuse despite being “overqualified”. I hate how they assume they’re my safety school bc of this. They’re actually not. I guess it’s my fault for not displaying my interest better. Do you know if there’s anyway I can contact the admissions committee now to let them know how much I really want to go to this school, or is it too late for me?

I know people who have visited their respective waitlisted schools to try and negotiate. Maybe you can do that. But then again, it depends on the school.

If Newhouse students are getting waitlisted, does that mean the program is full!? I still haven’t heard from them…

@melon2903 sorry I hate to be that person but is there anyway you can tell me the major you were rejected for and your stats if that isn’t too much to ask, I am so worried that I will get rejected because I definitely feel under qualified compared to some people. I really just want to get it.
