@afein8 when did your myslice change? Did you get an email?
@MasonM I think you’re right, I’m in second wave too. It sucks, but all it means is we know a little later
Does anyone the ED acceptance rate?
I believe it’s like 62%
@kymoore8 thank you! Did you get in yet or are you the second wave?
Im confused as to how people are finding out they got in if they didn’t get an email?? Anyone know or?
@mishk90 it’s probably just a system glitch, but i would keep checking both just in case u get one or the other
hey if you have not heard back yet join this group chat. we had one for everyone before but we have a new one for people who havent heard back yet
I got into Newhouse/CAS yesterday with a $25k merit scholarship at around 3:45!!! I sobbed pretty hard. Congrats to everyone! For those still waiting- good luck and keep the faith!
@Julia99 did they email you first and then it directed you to the link?? How’d it work??
@Julia99 Thats great! if you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats?
@mishk90 Yes! They send an email that basically says: we’ve reached a decision, heres the link
@app2284 Thank you! These were my stats:
GPA: 4.0 weighted, top 10%
SAT: 1390 (740 ela, 650 math)
Courseload: APs: English Lang & Comp (5), Psych (5), Biology, Poly Sci
took art/media electives all years
College Now classes at my HS: Communications and Humanities. As well as a Pre-College Acting class at Wagner College
Essays: Very personal common app essay, specific supplementals
Recs: Really strong, I was close with the teachers who wrote my recs. Didnt know my counselor that well, so that one was probably not as good.
ECs: President of Drama Club, NHS, School Musical for 3 years, Yearbook editor/photographer, a few art and writing programs outside of school, ICP summer photography class, lifeguard during summers. Volunteer work here and there.
Points of Contact: Had an off-campus interview that I thought went well, went to a Lubin House info session, visited once.
White female from an NYC borough, large public high school.
If you have anymore qs lmk!
@cuseyou can you tell me a little about CAS?? Is it selective?? How’s the premed program? does Cuse only accept einsteins lol?? Sorry!! Just need to know, super nervous for next week
@mishk90 yes its kinda scary but no need to drive yourself crazy everything happens for a reason!!! the premed program is great i have a few friends in it and yes they are smart but none of them had perfect 4.0 gpas in highschool they were just well rounded people who worked hard!!! getting intocuse is not all about marks its about essays and how you are as a person and what you did in highschool and everything
dont worry about it if you worked hard in school and on your app you should be fine!!!
@Julia99 My son got into Newhouse as well with grant but don’t see scholarship did you get grant money as well or just merit. And was it in your email. Congrats to you
I was admitted to Falk as an undecided major. Does anyone know how that works? When do you need to declare a major? Have any of the 'Cuse students on the site dealt with this or know anyone who enrolled as an undecided major?
@NSmusicmom Congrats! It was written in the acceptance email. I didnt get financial aid info yet, im thinking bc they recently asked for more materials that I had to send in. Did you get that info in a seperate email?
My daughter was accepted, but no word of merit money.
@julia99 the financial aid was on myslice but yes got an email. I’m happy with his grant just curious as to why no merit.
DD is in the SU class of 2018. Her ED acceptance email arrived on Friday, December 6, 2013. She received her merit award email the following week. We had paid the deposit late that Friday evening expecting no aid. DD was thrilled and we were happy to pay the deposit as DD withdrew her other applications that weekend. The merit award was a very unexpected and welcomed surprise. I believe merit aid is competitively based on the school(s) one is accepted to. DD is a dual at Whitman and Newhouse, loves Cuse, and is thriving! We could not picture her anywhere else!
Good luck to everyone.
