Yeah, I think we should just keep a close eye on our e-mail inboxes starting this Thursday. I have to confess I’m starting to become anxious on finding out, haha.

i’m going to go out on a limb here and say those who had all their information in (besides 1st marking period grades) before November 15th, I’m talking transcript, recs, etc… and then handed in first marking period as soon as they could, were talking before December 1st here, are going to be in the first pool. I feel as though the end of december thing is for the people who are getting all their finalized materials in you know what I mean. I personally feel as though decisions have been made on the applications that have been fully completed for quite sometime now as I think they started reviewing on the 15th. all speculation at this point. Gut is telling me everyone who is fully turned in will find out friday. but that’s just me

Does syracuse consider financial need in their admissions decisions? Our admissions rep said no, but I wonder if they would rather admit students whom they know can pay their way.

@prayin4newhouse Seems like the most logical explanation, and I hope that is the case!

@weluvnik No, SU is need blind… They do not take your financial situation into consideration when it comes to admission…

Does anyone know if their emailing us or going to be sending letters?

They will be emailing and sending letters. I’m exhausted to the point where im not as anxious anymore.

So I have been reading this and I agree it is frustrating. HOWEVER, I think we will find out in the next two days. Why you might ask? Well… if you have a facebook go onto this page: [Syracuse University Class of 2016 | Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/pages/Syracuse-University-Class-of-2016/253696491359673) Syracuse Admissions has already created a page for the class of 2016 and they created it yesterday which makes me think we will be hearing back Thursday. Hopefully this is true! Good luck to you all!

thanks morgan

i just asked that fb page if it knows when we’ll be hearing back

How do you know that admissions created the page?

I don’t think admissions created the page because they have not done it in past years and I think it would say "Official Syracuse Class of 2016 page’ or something like that.
There’s also this Facebook page that has been up for a while now.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Syracuse-University-Class-of-2016/239458089451186?sk=wall&filter=1

Yes, however I think that if the page says “official fan page” it means that the syracuse admissions (or whoever is in charge of that kind of thing) did make it. It would also make sense that they made it recently since we will all be hearing shortly-I believe Friday is the day.

or tomorrow! Would someone call to confirm if we are hearing Thursday or Friday?

Calling won’t help. Several people including myself have sent countless emails and phones calls. Wer not going to get a solid answer. That’s just the way it is. As frustrating as that may be…

I hope we hear from them tomorrow.

I heard from a current student that if you get in you get an email, then a letter. But if you get denied you only get a letter in the mail. That is all I know though.

I applied early for newhouse, with arts and sciences as my second choice

Hey guys, I got a reply…hope this satisfies you all!

Thank you for writing. Early decision notifications begin on Thrusday,December 15 and continue on a rolling basis. Notifications will be sent both via email and through the U.S. Postal system. Let us know if you need additional information.

all the college data websites that are somewhat current say that we will be hearing tomorrow… and a lot of other schools are sending out their early decisions tomorrow too. its got to be either tomorrow or friday

to provide some insight. when I was accepted into Syracuse’s summer college what they did was send me an email, almost like a cover email saying click this attachment and its either your acceptance or denial letter. little ways of building up suspense. so when you open your emails look for an attachment and that should be where your decision is. good luck to all

@weluvnik although syracuse is blind so they are technically not supposed to consider your financial aid needs for admission, i spoke to a professor who told me pretty much all colleges are lying when they say they dont consider it, and they are more likely to admit someone who can pay for school without financial aid
sorry to be a bearer of bad news! :(
