Thank you very much! I got the email yesterday, although my myslice information has not yet changed. I am very anxious to hear about my aid as that will be the deciding factor. Good luck. :)

^^ correct me if I’m wrong but were you already pulled from the waitlist? wow…record time…

Congrats!!

Wait…what??? They are taking people off the waitlist before they’ve finished regular decision notification??? This is beyond absurd.

still no response, wasn’t the final wave supposed to be today?

i called them yesterday and they told me they were going to release decisions until the end of may/beginning of june.

How are we supposed to be okay with that?! Like its basically saying everyone who hasn’t gotten a decision yet should just go somewhere else, because you can’t risk waiting for a decision that late and not accepting admission elsewhere.

It sounds like you’re all wait listed. Explain that you have not received ANY decision yet, not that you have been wait listed. They may think that you are a wait list asking when you will be notified whether you are taken off the wait list or not. Talk to an admissions officer directly and demand a decision. Don’t be afraid to be perssistant!

they told me that for a lot of transfer decisions they want our spring term grades.

Did everyone who is still awaiting a decision apply as a transfer student? Are there any first time applicants waiting to hear? I agree. It sounds as if SU isn’t too interested in the remaining candidates — waves aren’t seeming too “random”. So far, no rejections have been posted here. Many applicants have been put in their second choice, however. I’m curious whether those who are still waiting applied to one school only, with no second choice. In that case, it seems as if they didn’t outright “reject” the remaining students who they are choosing “not to admit now”; it seems as if SU is hedging their bets and guarding their yield by holding off notifications in order to fill openings in the class as initially accepted students decline the offer. Then SU can “accept” more students without creating a “waitlist” . Then, SU “didn’t have to go to a waitlist” to fill their class. Also, a lot of applicants drop their “waitlist schools” from consideration. I don’t know, just a thought. I think it is more considerate to “waitlist” students and allow them to make an educated choice than to keep them on the hook, though. I agree with other posters, it really leaves a bad taste. They already have admitted student dates and a welcome letter on their website. That tends to make the remaining candidates feel like second class citizens! Everything has its price, though :)… so I guess a REALLY good financial aid package might make this whole mess easier to swallow, if acceptances are still out there. Otherwise, I can’t imagine 4 years of this disorganized, non-responsive administration. If this is “first impression”, I can’t imagine what it would be like for students to deal with the registrar’s office ! … class registration??? housing/room draw?? etc etc… Good Luck. I’m encouraging my child to “move on” . Good Luck to everyone still waiting.

In answer to your question as to whether there are any first time applicants still waiting to hear. Yes, my D is still waiting patiently for an answer.

The website states that they are still accepting applications for the freshman class so it is not looking very promising. This is the only college that she applied to that has not fulfilled its stated notification date.

So whats going on? I live in LA county and applied regular decision but i still have not heard. On top of that the undergraduate admissions are flooded with calls so its hard to request information. Any news?

This is not the MO (modus operandi) at Syracuse for admissions…

if you have applied RD (not transfer) you should have already had a decision…this is not acceptable (although UMich is also not done, btw…)

I am hoping that if you haven’t heard yet, it is not because they were missing something in your app…like 1st quarter or mid year grades or the like…they will not send a decision without them; your file is marked incomplete in those cases…

If you cannot call the admissions office, send an email to your state’s admissions rep…or, better yet, have your guidance counselor inquire

Got an email today! Accepted to Newhouse as a transfer!!

D just accepted today! Dual enrollment College of Arts and Sciences and Newhouse as a transfer as well!

I called earlier today and someone at the admissions office said that my application was processed so I would hear back by the end of the week so I don’t know if that is tomorrow or the weekend. I am assuming most applications are processed by now but who knows. I applied regular decision undergraduate freshman by the way.

I’m a first year applicant…still nothing…hopefully tonight. I never planned on attending Syracuse but I’ve been waiting for their decision before enrolling at another school…I’m so irritated that there are people getting admitted from the waitlist before I’ve even heard any sort decision…

I called as well and they said that regular decisions should be anytime till tuesday or wednesday of next week so you should be getting a response either today tmrw

I tried to calling them twice this week to find out if I could send in additional materials for my application, because I was waitlisted. If I don’t get through, I may just send the materials in anyway.

still nothin, y’all

Anybody have ANY news to share??? Still nothing. I attempted to call several times today but could not get through. … !!!..
