can anybody else confirm this?

I am pretty sure it was not there until last night too. When I click on award letter, it says that “Syracuse University is pleased to offer you the financial aid listed below…” (but does not show award amt) We probably got accepted :D

My financial aid wasn’t visible until a few weeks after I was accepted. It’s probably just a site bug, they’re incredibly disorganized with MySlice.

The financial aid also just appeared in the past week on my daughter’s my slice. She is anxiously awaiting a decision but doesn’t want to make to much of this…did anyone not have this appear on their info?

Only a few more days until we finally find out!

^^^ Yeah I’m so excited!!! :)

My D’s financial aid status changed a week or so ago. It used to only say “click on the year you want to view.” Now it says, “You have no finanacial awards at this time.” Not a surprise! However, the chart itself was not there before. I looked at the to-do list one night and it said my D’s age and sex do not match what the loan database said and that she defaulted on a loan because she declared bankrupcy and they needed documentation. We freaked out thinking someone was using her identity, etc… My husband was going to call the next morning, but it was all gone! Then the no aid message came up a few days later. Bizarre! I, too, was hoping that it meant she was accepted, albeit with no aid! Is there anyone out there who still does not have the chart when you click on My Financial Aid?

what?

We’ll find out in a few days?!?
OMG >.< i’m mega excited. I’ve been waiting for a while.

Yep this Friday! Does anyone know if honors college offer/financial aid is in the acceptance or if you find out later on?

I hope transfer students hear from admissions on friday as well! I am excited/scared to find out.

Does anyone know how they decide who is placed in the first wave of decisions?

I can find no “wave” information on the website. And just for confirmation, D’s portal website says the same as everyone else’s: “this page is not available to you.” When it comes to financial aid, it says her file is initiated, but we did not fill out a fafsa or any other paperwork to initiate, so I think it’s all standard fillers and means nothing.

There is an admitted students page on their admissions website that says:

It doesn’t say to whom goes what, but I think we’ve somewhat established that international students might be getting emails and US students letters. Wish I understood this wave thing. Seems weird that there’d be a week between acceptances because if you don’t know about the waves, and there is nothing to tell you about it. And you’re best friend was admitted and you’ve heard nothing this late in the game, wouldn’t their office phones be ringing off the hook and servers crashing from inquiring emails?

^^i think, but I could be wrong, that the admissions decisions are released over a three week period on Friday afternoon so they don’t crash the SU server…

In the past, the first wave were students who received merit aid and their first choice school or program…no idea if that was a coincidence or by design…

They do not “promise” anything until April 1 st…so any phone calls to admissions should be after the last Friday, or March 30th if they have not yet heard…

Thanks Rodney… Appreciate the insight. However, one has to ponder now if getting merit aid and getting into your first choice program are mutually exclusive or inclusive. Like… if you don’t hear this friday does it mean you just didn’t get merit aid (which isn’t simple, I know) OR does it mean you didn’t get into your first choice program? Both or either?

What’s so funny is that by April 1, this waiting stuff will all be in the rear view mirror and the shoe will be on the other foot with colleges all wondering if students will indeed pick them in return! But the waiting is killer, for sure.

Just to clarify, Modadunn… All students will receive their notification by both email and regular mail. My daughter (we are not international) was accepted during early decision… She received her email the second week of notifications. The letter came a week or so later and her financial aid award within a couple of days (we were surprised at how quickly that was posted!)

One more thing… She did not receive merit aid nor did she get into her first choice school. So Rodney may be correct about their method of release.

hey guys
does anybody have a “admissions acceptance form” tab under the “applicant services” section? just wondering if this means anything

Yes it has been there for months for everyone. Unfortunately it does not mean anything.

Would love to know if anyone got into their school of choice and did not receive merit aid or vice versa.

It’s kind of like a ripping off a band aid REALLY slow…

Yes “Modadunn”, my son got into first choice school ED, and received NO merit aid.

I advise those students waiting to hear to ignore MYslice for now, and check their email beginning Friday. Best of luck to all!
