Syracuse University

An old friend of mine who's graduating high school this year asked me to help her in narrowing her college list. Most of the colleges on the list I knew a decent amount about. However, with Syracuse University, I'm drawing a blank. Things that I'm trying to find out in particular are:
* How is the college viewed (i.e. it's reputation)?
* Is it a highly respected or prestigious school?
* How strong overall is the Syracuse academically?
* What are fields that Syracuse University has particularly strong programs in/what fields of study is the university well known for?
* How is the general feel or atmosphere of the school?
Following the previous question's line of thought, is it in a good area? Are there plenty of things to do on campus? Off campus? How are the students there and what type of people does the school generally attract, if their is such a trend (ex. party school, workaholics, etc.)?
* How are student faculty interactions and class sizes?
* General student life: food, housing, entertainment, etc.
* Are there any unique aspects of the undergraduate program at Syracuse University? By this I'm referring to things such as Brown's lack of gen. ed. or WPI's project based learning.

Any help or information that you provide is greatly appreciated.

What does your friend want to major in? Where is she from?

Syracuse is a great school, known especially for its communications program but strong in many fields including biological sciences with adjacent med school and music/musical theater, great school spirit, large student body. It is well respected academically as a borderline top-tier school. Very attractive campus. New business building.

What he said, just not up to par for CC standards
