I'm a Junior, and Syracuse is currently my number one on the 'list' of colleges I want to go to.
So, this may seem like a random question, but I would just like to know more about Syracuse.
IE:
- What the style is (yes, clothes haha)
- Traditions, etc.

I don't know, basically anything about that school that is unique to it, or that is a big part of it, stuff that isn't advertised all the time.

you'll see a huge range on campus, although at any given time at least half the people walking around will be wearing something 'cuse. But yeah, there's a lot of preppy stuff considering the pricetag, and then your typical college attire of sweats/terrycloth and t-shirts...VPA gets a little more interesting, as we do have some pretty awesome "artsy" people.

as for traditions...well, winning basketball used to be one of them. =D march 24th is national orange day...we're one of very few schools to have only one color as our official color, and a bit proud of that. in the fall there's homecoming and in the winter, "winter carnival," but neither of those are huge...basically basketball is the big deal here, and we fully admit that our football team isn't our strong point ("but NEXT year..." yeah, right). other traditions? hall of languages is pretty cool-looking, and prospies get told that the addam's family mansion was modeled after it...there's the kissing bench outside, and if you sit with someone on it you'll get married....other than that, there isn't much else at the university-level...colleges and student orgs have their own traditions, but basically we are united by the fact that we all bleed orange.

I'm from the West Coast, so my perception might be a little skewed. Sometimes it seems like everyone wears the same thing; the majority of people embrace The Northface brand. I see a lot of girls walking around in the typical Northface jacket, leggings, and UGG boots. Guys... ha... I see a lot of Abercrombie and Hollister... which I find funny because the shirts they wear tend to display names of cities close to my hometown. Lots of polos and jeans. But don't get me wrong... there are some great dressers who don't necessarily fit the cookie-cutter description. Plus, it's cold, and when it's cold that doesn't give you many options does it?

Traditions. In what sense? If you tell me what you're interested in, I can try to tell you if there are any niche traditions that apply to you.

1) you find other people like you; you join clubs/organizations that tailor your interest; etc. don't worry.
2) no. period. tons of sub communities on campus.
