Is table tennis, seen as something worth playing/mentioning in the US? Because i am quite good at it and love playing it, and hope to get to competitive level soon. Anyone know?

There is a significant following depending on where you will be in the US. May I suggest looking at the USTTA website for a list/link of registered clubs in the area you will be in. Good luck!

Anything in which you invest a lot of effort and time and become good at is worth mentioning. If you become competitive, then it is definitely worth talking about. You may not find colleges/universities with table tennis teams, so you won't be an athletic recruit, but passion and commitment to endeavors seem to impress adcoms.

You weren't thinking of giving up something you really enjoy just to play the admissions game, were you?

My problem at the moment is that in the UK its very hard to find a daytime/weekend club where I can go and play/practice TT, whilst with other sports which I am also good, I can easily be able to join a 'team' even if I am not selected to compete. I love TT, but with my AS, SATS and everything, I don't want to use up the time for revision, unless I am sure that like I said it's it 'worth' it

To be honest, I don't think TT will help you much, in terms of getting into good schools for athletics. Also, the competition in TT isn't that stiff. I played USATT (it's not USTTA) and picked up quite a few awards (won Michigan Closed tourny 18's and lower, both doubles and singles a total of 4 times between both events in the course of 2 years). Anyways, I got bored of TT and quit shortly after...

what about badminton? Im pretty good at that as well, but I've heard that it's not well taken by Unis in the States because it's too 'European'

Princeton has a good table tennis team. but u wont get recruited
