I have been accepted to both Taft and St. Mark's and I am just curious to which in your opinions to you think I will have better chances to succeed and do better at?

In the one you liked the most. As simple as that, I wouldn’t chose “Prestige over Fit” as it has been said here before.

Ps. we cant actually think in which you well succed and do betten since there will be other kids as talented as you *Just My Opinion.

You will be successful at either school so it is a question of where YOU felt more comfortable. Both schools are well known and you will receive a great education at either school. Personally I like the fact that everything is under one roof at St. Mark’s, I think it makes the school a connected community. I have read posts about how St Mark’s is making some changes and I think it is a good sign when a school self evaluates and looks to the future. I would choose St. Mark’s :)

It really does depend on how you think you will fit in at the school. St Marks is smaller than Taft. How did you feel when you met the kids there? Did you feel comfortable and at home? Could you see yourself as part of the school? You cant go wrong at either place. It is really where you see yourself fitting in and thriving. BTW, congrats on the acceptances!

Year old thread.

But why does it matter when the thread was started? Even if there aren’t too many many St. Mark’s (MA) threads wouldn’t it be a good idea to post in just one?

BTW, for some smaller schools it might be a good idea to include the city or state. There’s a St. Mark’s in Dallas.

No. Better to start a new thread; use old threads for research only. One can safely assume that SMS refers to the school in MA when paired against Taft.

Sorry, but I don’t agree. Some of the meta threads can get diluted by chatroom style posts (go look at the last couple of pages of the Lawrenceville thread) but for something like this I think it’s perfectly appropriate.

I had never heard of St. Marks in Massachusetts but I’m pretty familiar with St. Marks in Texas so making assumptions wasn’t appropriate.

What’s the atmosphere at Taft? I’ve heard various opinions.

Hi @Netbang, did you ever get a reply to your quedtion about Taft’s atmosphere? You say you’ve heard various opinions, May I ask what are some of them?
