take SAT this Saturday or wait?

My daughter is signed up to take the SAT this Saturday but seems to need more work with math. She is scoring in the mid-600s on the math section. Would she be better off waiting until June to take the SAT when presumably she would find more time to work with it? She is taking SAT subject tests in May so that date is out. Her college counselor thinks it is good just to get an administration under her belt, but some colleges she is interested in don't allow score choice and I'm afraid a poor score will follow her.

Just to complicate matters, she seems to do better on the ACT but hasn't had time to really work with that either. She was planning to take in in June after a heavy prep week the week before. Should she consider taking that test in April? It's tricky since I think she may end up doing better on that test but it seems risky to not take the SAT.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

It’s not that easy to increase from mid-600s in Math (unless it is carelessness) so it really depends on what the additional time would do for her. If she’s otherwise prepared she should take this time, like counselor says to get an SAT score. Then she can focus on ACT for June. Waiting till June for SATs means May APs/Subj. test get compromised in study time too.

Thanks, that is how she is leaning…I just didn’t want this to be a negative on her record.
