MIT doesn't offer any credit for AP Computer Science. Is there any reason why I should take the AP exam? Or can I just save the $80?

I'm wondering if somehow MIT would be angry if I didn't take the AP test, but still do well in the course.

MIT doesn’t see any of your senior year AP scores until you’re registering for classes, so save yourself the $80 and the four hours.

from what i understand, mit does not give any credit to any ap exams (except a 5 on physics c)

Not exactly. You can view the 2013 AP credit policy here:
[MIT Incoming Freshman Class: First-Year Subjects (GIRs)](<a href=“http://web.mit.edu/firstyear/2013/subjects/ap.html]MIT ”>http://web.mit.edu/firstyear/2013/subjects/ap.html )

AP’s can help you with your math, physics, or FEE requirements in addition to getting you general elective credit.

too bad… i hoped to get out of bio, but not possible… hopefully i can get out of a calc, or get into an accelerated program in calc.

im taking them in case i want to transfer.

ya… while mit does not take them into consideration, it may be good just to have them in the back pocket. plus it is 80 dollars and only four hours.

You can still get out of biology and other exams by taking Advanced Standing Exams at the beginning of the year. If you pass, you don’t have to take the GIR. If you fail, your record never shows it :D

ya, but i do not remember any bio lol
