Taking 3 APs for the first time, junior year!

Hello there, I’m currently a sophomore entering their junior year and I’ve decided to take 3 AP classes. Those being AP Spanish, Bio, and Psychology. This coming year will be my first time ever taking any rigorous class. I’m an anxious person so I wondering if anyone has any advice for someone like me.
I would like to mention that for AP Spanish, I actually took French for 2 years but had a talk with the Spanish teacher who after talking with and showing my Spanish skills gave me a recommendation for that class.

Interesting that you are able to go straight to AP Spanish. At my kid’s HS, even the most fluent Mandarin speakers got put into Chinese 4 before going to AP Chinese. However, I’m not sure how difficult AP Spanish is.

AP Psychology is considered to be one of the easiest AP classes. AP Bio should be ok assuming that you did well in an Honors version of Biology (or equivalent) this past year.

It is certainly possible that some native or heritage speakers have skills more advanced than what US high school foreign language AP courses cover. It is also possible that some native or heritage speakers have maintained spoken fluency at home, but are significantly less advanced in reading and writing, so that they could still learn something (in reading and writing) in US high school foreign language courses.

Given that the OP has spoken to the Spanish teacher and is following the Spanish teacher’s recommendation, placement in AP Spanish is likely to be reasonable.

AP biology is generally considered to be a high volume of material and a heavy workload (with labs). AP psychology is generally considered to be a much lighter course, since it covers material similar to a one semester introductory psychology course in college that is usually not considered that hard a course.
