<p>I've taken 7 classes each year of high school but senior year, I chose to take study hall and also we are now given the option to opt out our first period class if it isn't required for seniors to graduate, so I would end up taking these 5 classes:</p>

<p>Would it be frowned upon if I only took 5 classes?</p>
<p>Yes. you should take an elective instead of study hall this will look especially bad. your first period being free as per school policy should not be a problem. Of course it depends what schools you’re applying to.</p>
