Taking 5 SAT subject tests versus taking 2

Hello,
I wanted to know which option is better:
Is it better to to take 5 subject tests and score between 700-750, or is it better to only take 2 and get 800s on both?

Please respond

There is no US college that subscribes to the theory that more equals better. In fact, more can work to one’s disadvantage as the AO may wonder if the applicant has anything better to do with his/her time than take Subject Tests.

@skieurope Another question: should I retake a 720 for US history and 750 for Math II. or is this good for selective colleges?

It depends upon the colleges. For most, it’s probably enough. For the <5% acceptance rate ones, you may want to retake the 720 (or try another subject), but really, I don’t think it will make a huge difference.

College admissions officers are not looking for testing drones. If you can take the number of SAT II’s a school recommends/requires and get top scores then stop. Agree that for top colleges you may want to re-take the 720 or try a different SAT II.

Keep the 750, retake the 720, and perhaps add another subject test in another academic area. NO us college requires or recommends more than 3.
