I'm currently enrolled in Las Positas College and I had seen the spring 2012 schedule and thought that maybe it would be a good idea to take upon myself the opportunity to enroll into 6 classes (20 units).

The classes are:
Brain, Mind, and Behavior (Psychology)
Abnormal Psychology
Critical Thinking and Literature (English 1)
Biological/Physical Anthropology
Introduction to Film (Humanities)
Statistics and Probability

The first 5 classes are 3 units while the math is 5 units. I feel as though I could do it since I'm taking 16 units now (2 of which are 5 unit classes) and it's been a breeze. I also researched on the teachers and heard that they're not too difficult or strenuous but not moderately an easy A - well maybe besides the Abnorm Psych, Film, and Anthropology class. So 3 classes that are easy, maybe 2 moderately average classes, and a difficult class (stats). From what I had heard about the statistics teacher however is that he is the best one at our school and that many people do pass his class with an A or B without too much stress to come along with it.

Anyways, my whole reason of this was if anyone could give me some advice if I should take upon this opportunity or avoid it all costs. In my opinion, it doesn't seem that hard but I wanted to get others perspectives just in case I'm being a bit impractical.

well you said you think it will be easy and they are community college classes. go for it

Yeah you’re cool, just watch out for finals.

“they are community college classes.”

That doesn’t mean a thing. Oftentimes, professors from four year universities teach at community colleges for extra cash/enjoyment. The class is the same, it just costs a lot less.

Anyway, OP, if you can handle the load, then go for it. I’m more than a little jealous that you’re school is letting you take 20 credits- mine is capped at 18, sticking me at 17 for this semester:/

Community college courses are not necessarily easy – they have to be rigorous enough to be accepted by the state universities. However, not all of them are, and some of them are rated at different numbers of units at the community college than the equivalent courses at the state universities.

Since you named a community college in California, see [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to check transfer equivalency for majors at UC and CSU schools.

You are good to go. I believe s.o in the UC Transfers forum is taking 32 units this Fall, and another person just took 17 units last summer at LACC… not me btw
The world is full of beasts xD

PS: I’d recommend you P/NP the intro to film class anyway. Seems like your major is psych, doesn’t hurt if P/NP GE
