I'm going to be starting community college at Orange Coast College next week and for my first semester I'm mainly taking classes that are mandetory just to leave occ and not any classes for my major yet. As of now im in Philosophy 120 (3 units), Film 100 (3 units), music 105 (3 units), track (2 units) and spanish 100h (5 units). im waitilisted for a psych 260 class that is another 3 units but i already am at 16 units without the psych class, so should i put the psych class off until another semester, or just take it now? it has a 4.0 easiness rating on ratemyprofessor by the way.

19 units is not terrible, especially since 2 of them are for track (PE?) that shouldn’t be too demanding mentally anyway. The biggest thing with that many units of intro or lower-div classes is the time committment. If you do not have or do not need to work at least part-time, then you can solely focus on studies and pull off 19 units. typically at CC you do not even need permission to take 21.5 or less, and there are always a good handful of students each term that go over the 21.5 and still pull it off. If you know you’re one to work hard and can manage your time without a job requirement, then all can work out.
