Taking a free period junior year?

Hi, I'm aiming for top universities such as UCLA, Duke University, Oxford. In my highly competitive high school, you can take up to 8 courses(although some AP courses count as two..). I'm considering taking:
Honors Bio-AP Bio
Spanish 5-6 AP Calculus BC
AP English Language - Off-Roll/Free Period
Honors American Literature- AP US History

So...the thing is, all the successful students I know didn't take an off-roll during junior year. The thing is, I'll likely be on the Junior Varsity Tennis Team and be self-studying Korean(for fun) with the goal of taking the SAT subject test before submitting my college app. Anyhow, should I take APEL with Free Period, or the year-long AP Computer Science course which happens to be way easier in my school than APEL. However, I'm an aspiring writer and wish to develop my skills in APEL. Please help me! I have to decide by tomorrow!
--Is it better to take an easy course like Journalism than an Off-Roll? Is Spanish 7-8 particularly hard, or should I just take that instead of an Off-Roll?

unless you specifically say what you were doing with that off period through some sort of essay or something, it’ll look kind of questionable, since Junior year is generally the year everyone takes their most challenging courses.

I personally would recommend not taking a non-reporting class Junior year, but I’m not necessarily an expert. As to what class to take, its really up to you.

My junior year (this past year) I had a pretty tough schedule, but I had a gym class as a bit of a ‘reliever’ from the rest of the day.

I am a junior taking a free period, but it’s only for the second semester. I do have an extra class because I have a 0 period, so I don’t have a disadvantage. your schedule sounds very intense, don’t worry.
