Do you like coding and programming? Try a bit more of that in your free time, think innovatively, and see where that leads you. If you have the contacts for it, an internship at some sort of software company or startup IT company would definitely help.
As for whether you should build on existing ECs or diversify, I’d pick strengthening what you already have. It shows consistency. Ofcourse, a gap years means a LOT of free time, so go ahead and dabble in music, too.
I have very limited experience in what Univs look for considering I’m a 17’er myself, so I won’t attempt that one. Contrary to what other people say, though, I can’t support the idea that your SAT scores will do anything to help us chance you. 88% in ISC is good (CONGRATS, btw!) and anything above a 2000 SAT is almost the same in my opinion of how colleges look at stuff. :)

@haultus what i think the problem is with skipping an year is waiting for 14 months … Moreover i think we’ll have to do alot of work and get alot of certificates and stuff to strenthen our profile and justify a (good enough) reason for skipping an year… I think the idea of skipping is good but by skipping you’ll be away from studies(the real studies) for a long time…

I would suggest you to give the SAT in June and if you do well you can opt for spring intake…

tushar…how serious are you into robotics…??(fellow enthusiast here :))

I’m a mediocre … I’m more into graphics and stuff … Would be taking cs :P

Would be trying for Spring intake … Do the chances of getting into a good uni decrease if i skip an year?

spring intake could be a good option
but I’ve heard you receive less financial aid.
if that applies to you
good luck mate :)
