I was wondering, if someone is majoring in the life sciences and decides to take an extra (not needed for pre-med or concentration requirements) math class pass/fail, how negatively would medical schools think of this? How would a "pass" calculate into a BCPM GPA, if at all?

A pass wouldn't get calculated into BPCM.

But, if you're going to take a math class, you might as well take it for a grade and use it to fulfill med school prereq's. Med schools will not allow a P/F class to be used to satisfy requirements.

Perhaps I should be clearer: Assume that the class has no bearing on pre-med reqs and is taken just as a "let's see where this goes" thing, and the student ultimately decides to take it P/F instead of lettered.

Although your response seems to have answered my question.
