taking a pre-med prereq while studying abroad

how would adcoms look at this?
the UC system has a study abroad program called EAP where they offer programs at foreign universities for UC credit at pretty much the same UC tuition cost. I want to see the world and build as much versatile life experiences while I'm young as much as possible so I want to study abroad for a semester or quarter, but I'm concerned how adcoms would look at this let's say if I took - a physics and calculus class abroad.

DONT. Study abroad- yes. I had a blast. Do not take prereqs abroad.

You might look into studying abroad for a summer or part of a summer, rather than during the semester. Sure it would be sweet to live abroad for a 15-week semester, but you could be seriously risking your academics which could in turn limit your success for med school applications which would likely affect the rest of your career.

A summer program, on the other hand, would give you an opportunity to explore something new (a new country, a new discipline, a hobby, whatever) without having to worry about any repercussions on your academic preparation for the future.

Worked for me–a summer studying art in Florence was pretty awesome.

thanks for the input! =DD
