Taking a 'W' in a TAG class?

I TAG'ed to UCSB, but might drop a Western Civilization class. Even if I take a 'W' I will still have over 60 units, IGETC done, 3.2 +, and all major pre-reqs done by end of Fall for Econ.

Will I be okay with dropping the class?

I know for some of the UC’s you need to be a fulltime student for the semesters included in the TAG, I am not sure about UCSB maybe you should call and find out? You should also call to let them know you might drop a class since you would need to report it anyway since the TAG app has already been submitted, and see what information they have for you.

Hey Larinaga,

Did you ever drop the class? I’m planning on dropping a psci class but scared for my UCSB TAG even though it’s just an elective I don’t need.

Hey. I’m still enrolled. I was only thinking of dropping it because I thought I did poorly on the first test, but ended up with a 86 on it. Lol. I asked a UCSB counselor and she said to not worry about dropping it unless dropping it would put you below 60 units and if you need the class to complete the 7-course breadth pattern.

Thanks so much, larinaga! I ended up dropping the class and I’ve been freaking out ever since hahaha.
