Taking a year off of college after junior year

Hi, I'm currently a junior (rising senior) at Georgetown University.
I'm an international student, and I live in a country other than my home country (so, double international).

Anyways, I've always wanted to go to law school right after i graduate from college. I hope to be able to (with my GPA and future LSAT score) apply to and be hopeful about getting into HYSC and other top law schools.

My current GPA is a 3.8, and hopefully I can raise my GPA a bit more my senior year.

My major question is the following:

I am planning on taking a year off after this semester. What will this look like to law schools? Is this a negative point? I never thought this would be a negative factor, but I think I've seen a thread earlier about gap year being a not-so-good sign. If so, why?

I'm not taking a year off because I'm sick or because I have an awsome internship opportunity. It's more a personal reason that might not seem so important to others.

Please let me know what you think!! Thank you.

Basically you should write an addendum of why you took a year off. With your GPA at a top UGrad institution it’s unlikely that the year off will hurt you.

thank you for your answer! i really appreciate it :)
