Taking ACT but bad at mathematics

So I am planning on taking the ACT in early summer ( I can’t take it any other day to due complications and stuff) and then again senior. I chose to take it over the SAT because it includes science which I enjoy and excel in it. However, there is one subject that I can not escape because it’s on both tests, and that is…MATH. So I am not good at it and I don’t know what to do. I don’t plan on applying to any super competative private or Ivy League school, my goal is to just get into a cal state or maybe a UC school. I already bought an ACT prep book and plan on working on that soon. Should I even take it again senior year after I take it this summer? How does superscoring work? WHAT am I ever going to do about the math portion!?

Any chance you can get a tutor to help with the ACT Math prep? Any great Math students at your school that would be willing to help you?

If you have never taken the ACT, then definitely plan on taking at least twice. CSU’s superscore while UC’s do not. Other than a few CSU’s (SDSU/Cal Poly SLO) most will accept test scores up to December of Senior year.

CSU’s take your highest Math, Science, Reading, and English scores that you achieved on any of the dates you took the test. Then, it will average these together for a new composite so that you’ll end up with your highest possible composite score.

The essay/writing section is not required by the CSU’s but currently required for the UC’s so make sure you take the essay portion also.
