taking ACT only one time, Jr. year?

How will colleges view if you only report one ACT score from Feb of Junior Year. Does it look bad not to try again? S got a 33 and doesn't want to retake.

why would he retake it? If I got a 33 the first time I wouldn’t even think about retaking it, or if I did retake it I wouldn’t study atall before the test.

It does not look bad to take the test only once. 33 will be within acceptable range at every school. If, however, he is aiming for top schools, going for a higher ACT score or trying the SAT may be appropriate depending on his potential for improvement and willingness to prepare.

Upon learning a bit more from the OP, I recommended not retaking.

I got a 30 first time and only took it once. I saw no need to retake it, so a 33 should be just fine.
