Taking AP Course + Exam Not Related to Major?

Hello!

I am currently a junior at a public New York City high school and I would like to major in business administration and management, while concentrating in Marketing and International trade.

However, I didn’t really have the idea of what I wanted to major in until the October of last year, when I already had my junior year courses settled.

I took:
AP World History
I am taking:
AP US History
AP Biology
AP Chinese
AP English Language + Comp

I know that I should I should take AP Calc BC, and AP Econ next year.

My question is: will colleges look down on me if I am taking all these business courses my senior year? If so, how can I change that?

Also, I’m not particularly good or interested in APUSH so would colleges look down on me if I don’t take the exam?

Thanks

Take whatever courses you want. You should take the APUSH exam.

I don’t think that skipping the APUSH exam will hurt you since you have so many other AP courses.

All what Business classes your Senior year? As an FYI, at may colleges, you take few Business classes until your Junior year of college.

@Eeyore: Good point. But it does depend upon whether one is or isn’t a direct admit to any particular school’s business major.

Colleges will look at your Math and English backgrounds. Selective business programs will prefer calc and AP English to high school management, marketing, and accounting classes. You don’t need to take business classes in HS, although DECA doesn’t hurt.
