I have posted this once, but the feedbacks were pretty much the same.

Here is my situation, in my school there is a policy that states that we must get a certain mark in that course in order to be eligible for the AP Exam.

In addition, we are not allow to self-study and ask the school to order the exam for us EVEN THOUGH WE PAY FOR THE EXAM REGARDLESS WHETHER WE TAKE THE DAMN COURSE OR NOT.

I have been told to just go to another school to take the exam. But several problems arises

There may be a conflict in the schudule where I might have to skip school, and I don't want to **** my teacher, who is also the AP coordinate of the school off.

How am I suppose to get the score that I took at that school and send it to my university?

How should I talk to the AP coordinator at that school? Like what happens if he asks me what class I am in, etc. Should I even tell him I am from another school?

Say the AP coordinator of that school complies with me, will they contact my school?

What if no school that has an AP coordinator complies with me? What can I do if I really want to take the exam and all the damn schools have the same ****ed-up policy like my school?

Can IB schools offer exam orders for you?

^^bump. i doubt every school has the same policy. i’d look for large public schools in your area to take the test. some days you’re gonna have to miss school, just tell teacher in advance?

What are some good excuse? I mean one of my AP teacher is the AP coordinator? And she is someone you don’t want to **** off…I am ****ing serious…

I’ll get to it below.

CollegeBoard should handle it for you without the school’s intervention.

You’ll probably have to tell that coordinator some info; however, see below.

Maybe, but see below.

Don’t worry; there should be one. If there isn’t, you could always try a local university.

Not sure.

However, I think the most important thing to keep in mind is that, no matter what the school says, you have a right to take these exams. What you do outside of school is your business, and the activity should merit at least an excused absence from the school. If your AP coordinator gets too pushy about it, I would get your parents to talk to them.

If that doesn’t work, as a last resort, you could always get a lawyer to write them a letter. ;)

No seriously, I don’t want to get my parents involved…

My mother doesn’t speak English, and unshamelessly, she’s an ignorant woman.

My AP coordinator is reputated to be the meanest teacher in the damn school

Who do I talk to my local university???

I hate this too lol I still have no clue why schools are so mean lol

Don’t they mail your schools home?

And are you a senior or a junior? If you’re a senior, and let’s just say you do get in trouble in May, it wouldn’t cost you as much lol

I’m pretty sure some schools wouldn’t bother contacting your school. Find a large school in which the guidance (or whoever’s administering the exam) are too busy and lazy to care. There are schools out there who are administering like 100 AP exams every 3 hours, so try to find those? Or try to talk to people from other schools and get an idea of whether their AP coordinator would care or not.

As for missing classes… can’t you just ask your parents to write you a note or something? I really don’t understand why teachers make a big deal out of one good student missing one class and doesn’t make a big deal out of a bad student skipping every class. If you’re a decent student, I bet your teachers wouldn’t care- they’ll just assume you were sick or something and wouldn’t even bother asking.

No, but I need to know how AP Exams are held, do they need your name and classroom numbers and stuff like that? Because I don’t have any of those since I am not in that school, you see where my problem arises at the test day??

Also, maybe I didn’t stress the teacher part hard enough, MY TEACHER IS THE AP COORDINATOR AND THE BIGGEST A-HOLE IN THE SCHOOL. Thank you.

^How are we supposed to know? It usually depends on the guidance people (or the AP coordinator) whether they want your name and classroom numbers. In bigger schools (in which there is like a guidance ratio of 1: 400), then probably no.

The best advice I could give you is talk to people from other schools and ask them if their AP coordinator is strict about this stuff. Then register with the school that’s least strict.

I don’t know either!!! That is why I am panicing. How are AP exams held usually? Like how is it held? What if the school does not offer the course, when it is scheduled? Because in my school there are only 4 ap courses available and only 4 dates for it. And only those dates.

^What do you mean when it is scheduled? The CB has the list of dates for each AP exam you want to take. You have to write the exam when the CB scheduled it.

Find a school that proctors exams at the same time you need to take them. The best bet is probably to go find a larger school because they’d be offering a lot of exams.

Maybe you would understand how I feel if you were in my situation. But thank you, you’ve managed to solve one of my problems, only a few to go.

This is my question, some schools like mine only has a schedule for certain exams since it is the only courses they offer, what if all schools are like that???

Also, someone mentioned that if no school would comply with my request, I should go to nearby university. If so who do I talk to??

^Lol I was in your situation lol At least they’re letting you know in October… they told me I couldn’t write the exam (even after I’ve paid) in early APRIL when I didn’t even have a chance to find another school.

I highly doubt universities would offer AP exams, though it might be different in the states?

And I also highly doubt not a single school is proctoring the timeslot of the exam you want to take. I mean, even if a school didn’t offer Music Theory, they’d offer Biology, right (Music theory and Bio are in the same timeslot)? And don’t some schools in the state offer like 20 AP courses (particularly the bigger ones)?

Just a heads up though, you might have to pay an additional fee for administration.

No, on my school calender it has only 3 scheduled ap exams. That is how I knew. I don’t think you understand my situation fully on your third paragraph there.

My problem is that they might not even administer it let alone proctoring it.

^So what if your school calender only has 3 scheduled ap exams? Find a school that offers the exams you want to take (and skip class. If you absolutely can’t, then too bad).
