Hi! I'm a junior IB diploma student at an international school. My school does offer AP classes, but since I'm not sure where I want to go for university (US, Australia, or England), I'm taking IB courses. But I feel like taking AP tests for a few of my IB classes will help me if I choose to go to a US university. Which classes are pretty similar / I won't have too much trouble with self studying?

IB HL English - AP english lang / AP english lit?
IB SL Contemp World History - AP World History?
IB HL History of the Americas - APUSH?
IB SL Spanish - AP spanish?
IB SL Math - AP Calc AB?
IB SL Psych (junior year) / IB HL Psych (senior year) - AP Psych?
IB HL Chem - AP Chem?

Will I able to take those tests without too much studying? I want to be careful so that don't overload myself. I have already taken AP art history / AP european history and have received 5's on both tests.

Also, will I be able to take SAT subject tests with these classes?
I'm been thinking about taking:

literature
world history
math 1 or math 2 ?
chem
MAYBE us history
MAYBE physics (I've taken a honors physics course at my school and might take AP physics B or C senior year).

Sorry that was a bit long, but, thanks for your help!

I’m an IBDP candidate who just completed my Junior year, so I’ll just tell you what I did. I’m in the US though, so I don’t know what difference that makes.

IB English HL - English Lang. Junior year, and I’m going to take Literature Senior year
IB HotA HL - APUSH

I don’t know that much about the other subjects, but I would assume that you could succeed in them as well.

Spanish should be easily doable, as should Psychology.

For IB Math, is it Math Studies, or just Mathematics? I know that Math Studies will NOT cut it for Calc. I’m not sure about Mathematics.

For IB Chem, I’m pretty sure that you’ll have to do extensive self-studying. Check to see how closely they two courses mesh. I know for Physics, there were quite a few things not covered in my IB class.

Six/Seven AP classes is very doable, especially if you have the corresponding classes. Just make sure you study, of course. Don’t rely on your classes to cover all the material though.

For the SAT2s, you could easily study for almost any subject and do well. I would recommend looking at what you want to major in, and seeing if the colleges you’re looking to apply to have any requirements (for instance, is Math 2 required?). But personally I think that USH, Math 2, and WH would be the easiest. The histories have very lenient curves.
