I'm a homeschooled student, have Maths, Further Maths, and Physics A-levels, but hardly any other qualifications; I was planning to take the above Subject Tests this autumn, but is it too many? Should I instead do APs in some of the subjects (I'm applying to college this autumn)?

Also, which is easier to learn from near-scratch; World or US History?

Well, you can only take 3 at a time so why not stick with that many. You can do both AP and the SATs, that will look better.

From near-scratch, not sure. AP World history is easier to self-study for than US History. The essay format is totally different and since the subject is so broad for world, you don’t have to remember as much random detail.

The WHAP is easier, but neither is “easy” to self-study for. You’ll need to really work on it this summer if you’re going to take the Subject test in the fall. Umm, you can’t take more than 3 SATIIs at a time, so you might have to wait a month to take another set of 3 after your first month. Work on the SATs more because you’ll be able to include that in your apps but APs are taken in May, so it won’t really be included in your app

US History is a pretty difficult test. For a lot of people it isn’t, but I don’t personally know anyone who self-studied for it. At my school World is new and is an independent study, so that’s what I’m going off of.

As a fellow homeschooled student, I’d say take as many SATs as you can score well on. Having outside sources (such as tests) verify your academic achievment is invaluable. As far as APs go, if you’re applying to college this fall, you won’t take the tests until next year, so adcoms won’t see your scores.

I agree with what Mendi said. I am not homeschooled, however I think that taking as many SAT IIs as possible will just further the legitimacy of your application. It will demonstrate how well you know the subjects, not just based on grades, etc. APs will look even better because that shows an even higher level of mastery.
