Taking Chem2b, Mat17b, and BIS2a together winter quarter freshman year?

Would it be a bad idea? Is taking all three together too much to handle at once?
Oh and on a side note, which lower division English class do you guys suggest?

bis2a is sooo hard i’m failing right noow :’( the median score so far for the class is 61.5% so there ya go… if you’re good then i suggest you do it, if you’re not then don’t put so much heavy coursework in a quarter.

Nope, it’s not that bad, but I will warn you that Chem 2B is potentially finnicky. All lower-div English classes are/were lots of reading that vary by professor.

I’m not sure if I’m particularly good at biology, but I took AP Bio as a sophomore in high school and got a 4 on the AP test. What would you suggest?

you must be good then, i had no background in bio so i’m not doing so well. It’s basically chemistry, atp, molecular reactions and stuff the 1st midterm… you should do at least average with your background.

I was talking to my advisor, and she said it might be a better idea to only take two of those classes instead of all three-you still graduate on time, and this way, you have the advantage of learning the material a lot better. BIS 2A is very chem based from what I have heard-those who have taken the class before said that the emphasis on chem concepts is a lot more than that of AP biology. I got a 5 on AP Bio, but I still don’t feel prepared enough because of that! However, the course has been “redesigned” so we’ll just have to see!

Technically for BME they recommend you taking chem2b mat 21b and bis 2a at onc, so taking the first quarter of chem may be an advantage if bis2a really is that chemistry intensive because you’ll have a better background in chem at least
