Classes to take next quarter for BMB major

If I’m taking Math 21A, Chem 2A, a GE, and a seminar right now, what classes should I take next quarter if I plan to transfer into the BMB major. I was wondering if I could go from Math 21A to Math 16B without any problems? Also, I’m not taking a seminar and if I take the 16 series, I’d have less credits, so should I take another GE course or should I take Biology?

Also, if I take biology starting winter quarter, would that be weird because I take BIS2A and BIS2B but then take BIS2C next year fall? And is it not recommended to take both chem and bio in the same quarter or does it not mater?

Damn triple post, but I meant biochemistry major..just got used to seeing BMB on the office/website name.

Go to the SAAC or your major department for advising. It's painless.

Personally, I took Bio1A, Chem2B, and Math16B winter quarter. I would suggest you take the Bio2 series just in case you don't get into a class since you can't mix the bio2 and bio1 series classes together (you probably know they are discontinuing the Bio1 series next year). Im pretty sure that you can change the math series. My roommate changed from 17 series to 16 last year.

^^edit: Definitely talk to an advisor if you still want to take the Bio1 series. I definitely would NOT take Bio1 series if I were in your position. The classes are going to be full of 2/3/4 years who usually know by now that they should study for tests.

"And is it not recommended to take both chem and bio in the same quarter or does it not mater?"
Depends, as a biochemistry major you are going to have to take chemistry for 3 years, and close to 4 years of biology/biochemistry courses. If your goal is to graduate in 4 years, a minimum of two science courses is required almost every quarter. Some people (lol friends) have to take 3 science courses a year now in order to graduate in 4 years. If you don't care when you graduate (ie, 7-8+ years) go ahead and take 1 science course a quarter.

Seriously tho, you are a SCIENCE major. You should be overjoyed to be taking science courses.........well not all of them.
3 Qrt Physics
3 Qrt Gen Chem
3 Qrt Organic Chem
2 Qrt Physical Chem
3 Qrt Intro Bio
4 Qrt Intermediate level Bio
4 Qrt Biochemistry

O, btw if you don't notice from my name, I'm also a biochem major =P.
