There's a program in my school district where high school students with a certain GPA are allowed the opportunity to take courses at local colleges and universities (Georgetown, Howard, Catholic, American, George Washington, Trinity Washington, University of Maryland: College Park) for a college credits and high school internship credits. I applied to 3 of the schools and was accepted to one. For all of the schools, they have a selection of classes that you can pick from. I'm at a crossroads with this.

I'm a dance major at my school with an interest in history, political science, and psychology. The courses I've been placed in are an intro to Psychology and, for second semester, an intro to Sociology. Although it would be an opportunity to experience and actual college course, navigate a college campus, and receive college credit, I'm not too sure how beneficial the program truly is.

I'm considering this:
-taking the class takes up two class periods because I have to allot for travel time
-the class is still graded on a 4-point scale so it's not adding anything to my GPA

I'm considering just beefing up my schedule at school. I'm taking AP Literature and AP Gov this year, I think I may try enroll in my schools Street Law course because of my interest in political science. I was also looking into doing a self study of AP Psychology. My school doesn't offer the course, but I'd rather take an AP Psych. course for a 5.0 than take a Psych course at a college only for a 4.0.

I just wanna know some opinions on this: Should I stick with the college internship program, or beef up my schedule at my school and add the self study?
